Right now, I’m at the Coffee Garden Cafe in Sacramento, STILL working on my play. A big lesson has occurred to me as I’m still on my process of how to write a play: ask questions! To get me out of this funk I’m having, I started to ask myself questions about the play as if I was a reporter/student/assistant/teacher about the play. I’m kinda doing this organically, so I’ll definitely list down the questions in a separate blog post which will hopefully become another tool in my writing set… especially when the big old block stands in my way. Anyways, I’m finding myself truly opening up about the story by asking the basic questions of: who is the protagonist and antagonist?; what does each want?; what is the conflict?; how does it end; etc. It’s helped out a lot!
