On Sunday, July 29, at 2pm, join us as we continue to kick-off a series of FREE Monthly Beats at NEXT DOOR, 659 W. Diversey, in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, featuring new short works, live music and an open mic!
The Center for Immigrant Resources and Community Arts (CIRCA) Pintig (meaning pulse in Pilipino) invites you to experience another happening this summer. After a successful filled to capacity presentation of “ALLOS: The Story of Carlos Bulosan” at Maya Essence in June, CIRCA Pintig continues it’s summer long 21st Anniversary Season celebration.
Our July event will premiere a short work by Bay Area Playwright Conrad Panganiban, “MamaSiHero,” along with Neal Ryan Shaw’s highly acclaimed short, “This is Why I Don’t Drink”, both well received by many at A-Squared Theatre Workshop’s highly recommended and often sold-out run of “My Asian Mom.”
July’s Monthly Beat will also feature, live music by the youth band, LED, When Ned Left, and others. An Open Mic follows.
Be present, share your thoughts, suggest future guest artists, discover what makes our heart beat, explore the many ways you can become part of the CIRCAPintig community!
Be sure to save the dates for the following Summer 2012 Monthly Beat events on the following Sundays: July 29, August 26, and September 23, 2012 happening at NEXT DOOR, 659 W. Diversey Parkway, Chicago from 2pm – 4pm, FREE and OPEN to the public!
