Really quick because I have a meeting with my playwriting advisor in 20 minutes, but I wanted to quickly chime in about one of the ways to know when the “career” you choose is right for you: time flies.
I think this is kind of a no brainer but one of the things, okay, another thing I learned from the 31 Plays Project is that even though I gave myself a limited time to write each play, as I was writing them, TIME FLEW! I didn’t really have a concept of time while figuring out what each character will say next or what will happen next. Time rules everything… except when I write.
Now, this took me by surprise. Since I have to read a SHITLOAD of books for my class, even reading the assigned novels and plays, time is lost. It doesn’t necessarily fly by like when I’m writing, but I’m starting to get lost in the story the author weaves. Truly new for me, but a very good new.
Okidokes. gotta inundate my advisor with a lot of preguntas!
Ciao!
