So, I’m back to blogging, albeit for only a day. Actually, I should be saying that I’m back to writing again, but alas, not so the case and it’s really bumming me out. Now it’s one thing to say it (“I haven’t been writing lately.”) and another thing to do something about it. So, I was quite happy to see that registration opened up again for 31 Plays 31 Days! I did this last year and I felt that it propelled my energy forward into my first semester of Grad School!
The experience totally gave me the confidence of being able to tap into the Writing Sphere of my noodle and be able to pull and shape it long enough into 31 different plays!
On different news, I’ve been fortunate enough to have a project I am in collaboration with in a screenplay I helped write become a reality. We had a table read of it last Friday and went really well! I can’t say too much about it just yet… well, so I don’t jinx the possibility of it being shown on a huge San Francisco Screen… stop, Conrad 🙂 But it was good to hear other people breath words into something I’ve written. Not really that nervous about it as usual. Maybe because it’s a collaborative script rather than just my own–so I’m not the only one being “judged!” Ha!
I’ve also been happy to be a part of a couple of Staged Readings from being on the Actor’s side! Wrapped 2 readings of Russell Horvath’s play, IN SEARCH OF THE SPRINGSTEEN HIGHWAY! An awesome political and economic farce where I got to play a character named the Nutella Dude and a Rich Tycoon named Jankins McCuffins! Brought back good memories of being on stage trying to pull laughter from an audience. So much fun!
Another project I’m connected with is in doing a reading for Jeannie Barroga’s new work, AURORA which will be read at Tides Theatre, 533 Sutter Street, SF on Monday, May 6th at 7pm and it’s FREEEE! It’s a great and personal story which I’m honored to play a little part in. Click on the image above for more information!
