QUINN is reading a book while SKYLER crosses in front.
SKYLER
See ya later.
QUINN
Wa wa wait! Where are you going?
SKYLER
Did you forget about the Goth Rock Music Festival?
QUINN
I assumed that it was canceled.
SKYLER
Why would it be?
QUINN
Omicron
SKYLER
Who?
QUINN
Omicron is a variant of Covid. Not a who!
SKYLER
Sounds like a cool band name.
QUINN
It’s neither cool or a band.
SKYLER
Good to know.
Bye.
QUINN
Wait! You can’t go there.
SKYLER
I bought tickets last year.
QUINN
You go and you’ll get sick. And then I’ll get sick!
SKYLER
Will it turn me into a Zombie?
QUINN
No, but it could kill you.
SKYLER
Thus, turning me into a Zombie?
QUINN
No, you’d just die.
SKYLER
Oh. It’d be kinda cool to turn into a Zombie.
QUINN
This isn’t a joke!
SKYLER
You know what’s worse than being dead?
QUINN
Uh, nothing.
SKYLER
It’s not living.
It’s not being able to go out and listen to your favorite band.
It’s not being able to do the things that remind you that you ARE alive.
Pause.
QUINN
Wasn’t The Cure supposed to play there?
SKYLER
They’re still playing there and they’re headlining.
QUINN
They’re my favorite band.
SKYLER
That’s why I got an extra ticket for a person who’s been double vaxxed, boosted, and always triple-masked.
SKYLER holds out the ticket.
Pause.
QUINN
And don’t forget about being socially distant…
SYLER
And choosing to still live?
Pause.
QUINN takes the ticket.
QUINN
I’ll drive. You suck at directions.
Both exit.
